OUTFIT | #3

Okay so maybe I'm cheating here and I actually wore this a few days ago and am actually welcoming in the New Year in my oh-so-stylish PJs but if I actually had plans tonight, I'd probably wear something like this. Happy New Year everyone.

OUTFIT | #2

I like summer. The fact that it's light outside for all but a few hours a day, the pretty scenery, the glorious weather. But there's something about summer that just accentuates my lazy nature. Maybe it's the heat but I tend to become very lethargic during the summer months. I rarely bother to think about my outfit, especially since I often don't have much to do during the day. Every so often, I think that perhaps I should organise something with some friends and go be active. But then I forget and the cycle continues.
Hopefully I'm going to the beach soon. With any luck I'll go next week. In the mean time, I simply read and listen to music for most of the day. I would sit out in my garden but (and here's a confession) I am terribly afraid of wasps and bees - to the point that I will avoid going outdoors so that I don't come across any. Hence the fact that I'm still very pale when it's nearly July!

A friend bought me this necklace for Christmas. The watch never tells the time correctly, no matter how hard I try. Still, it's one of my favourites.

I have a feeling I failed on the shoe front today. No pair I tried on looked quite right. I have such a limited shoe collection though since I'm always attracted to heels over flats. I always seem to pass by sensible shoes in favour of prettier ones that I know I'll rarely wear, but buy anyway.

OUTFIT | #1

dress: Bay Trading, necklace: Marks & Spencer, shoes: Melissa

I bought this dress around two weeks ago, maybe more. However this is the first opportunity I've had to wear it so far, mainly due to poor weather. I bought it at the same time as the blazer I wore in my previous post. When I tried it on in the shop, I transferred a lovely big smear of red lipstick all down the front so it was probably a good job that I liked it so much! Trying to explain that one to the dressing room attendant would have been... interesting.
I actually didn't do anything today. I woke up late, around lunchtime, and mostly padded around my room and revised a little bit. After a while I got changed into some old jeans and a t-shirt since it seemed a waste to dirty a perfectly good dress for no reason. Also, you can really see how pale I am in this picture. I quite like it though; I look dreadful with a tan. Maybe it's the fact that the dress is little 50s reminiscent, but it reminds me of Mad Men when Don Draper refers to Peggy as 'fresh as the driven snow.'
