OUTFIT | #15

Sometimes it's nice to escape town for an afternoon and head out into the countryside for some lunch. (I had the falafel burger with grilled halloumi, if you were wondering) Especially when it means you finally get the chance to wear that new blouse you've had your eye on for weeks. I seriously want to buy a dozen silk shirts and wear one everyday. They are so comfortable and simple yet always look good.

OUTFIT | #14

sweater: Topshop, dress (worn as skirt): Miss Selfridge, tights: H&M, boots: Doc Martens, watch: Swatch, bracelet: Accessorize

My Doc Martens are probably my favourite pair of boots I own, but they're nowhere near the most worn. In fact, I could count the amount of times I've worn them on one hand. Despite taking pride of place in my shoe line up, they're sadly rather neglected. Occasionally I'll put them on and wear them around for a while but the leather is so tough and my feet are wimpy and blister easily; breaking them in is a ongoing ordeal. One day, I'll stick it out and wear them in properly. I'm just too lazy most of the time to bother, oops.

Also, the dark winter nights are making it increasingly difficult to a well lit outfit shot. Although, I'm starting to feel rather festive and have been pulling out these green tights quite often of late, just to add to the mood.

OUTFIT | #13

shirt, jeans: Topshop, t-shirt (worn under): Forever 21, boots: Rocketdog

Continuing with the boots theme; my Rocketdog cowboy-esque numbers. While not quite the same as the Sam Edelman Nile boot that I can lust after but certainly not afford on minimum wage, they're pretty sweet and do the job nicely. Plus, they're incredibly comfortable.

OUTFIT | #12

I love shoes and the onset of colder Winter weather has got me excited to start wearing boots again. In fact, my next few blog entries will all be outfits involving boots because, why not? Boots have to be one of my favourite things about my Winter wardrobe. I've already ordered one new pair that are winging their way to me and have my eye on a few others.

I do have a terrible problem of buying shoes and never wearing them in though. There are a very lonely pair of Doc Martens in the corner of my bedroom that I've worn only a handful of times since I got them last year. They still rub, since I always forget to stretch them out.

Also, if you ever wondered where I shop the most, I think this blog post pretty much sums it up. H&M all the way, baby.

OUTFIT | #11

I know it's been a while since my last post; so much has been going on that I've only just recently had time to sit down and have some time to myself. I've been to Berlin, lost my job, I got back from Rome last week and this weekend I'm flying to the US to stay with family over there. (Pictures of my trips are on my Flickr if you were interested.)

In between all that craziness, I've just been enjoying some time at home, not doing much of anything. Sometime it's the simple things that I enjoy best, which is often reflected in the way I dress. Lately, I've been wearing simple, comfortable clothes that (at the risk of sounding too much like one of those awful magazine articles) I can dress up or down, depending on how the mood strikes me.

This is also something I bear in mind when packing. I travel fairly often, so I like to think I have packing down pretty well. Sometimes it's all about packing with simple outfits in mind, then adding different jackets, accessories or shoes to make it a little more interesting/more suited to a particular climate or occasion. And all with minimal effort required on my part, which pleases my inherently lazy nature to no end!
