DAYS OUT | Tea and Scones

On an outing to the seaside last week, we decided to get out of the blustery wind and have something to eat. Not being in the mood for fish and chips, our options were limited. We spotted this little tea room at the edge of the town and couldn't resist. Maybe I've been spending too much time on Tumblr looking at overly whimsical blogs (you know the ones I'm talking about) but I couldn't resist.

It was ridiculously quaint and exactly the way I pictured a tea room to be. Sugar cubes on the table in chintzy bowls? Check. Tea cosies as far as the eye can see? Check. Old ladies gossiping at every table? Check, check, check. In fact, the group of women sat behind us were discussing their favourite Youtube users which made me smile. You're never too old!

I even had scones and jam, though I skipped on the tea. I'm probably the only person in the country who hates the stuff. I opted for a cloudy lemonade instead.

After leaving the tea room, we walked along the sea front a bit more and did some window shopping. I picked up a leatherbound volume of Shakespeare's tragedies for £2 in a charity shop - my steal of the day! (Although I'm currently reading The Mayor of Casterbridge. Got to love a bit of Hardy.)

cardigan: Fat Face, dress: H&M, necklace, shoes: Topshop

I did palm my camera off to get a few outfit shots snapped. Out of all the blurry pictures of me in mid-speech, I only came out with one where I look a bit squinty and angry. I'm beginning to think I need to give my family and friends a crash course in taking pictures. Step #1: 'Framing' or, 'People's Heads - They Should Be in the Picture Too'.
